02 / METHOD SORTING

What can modes do?
  • Alphabetically compares strings according to the rules of the selected language. Natural sort recognizes numbers in lines: “File 2” will be before “File 10”.
  • By separator and column sorts by a specified character, word, or CSV-like string field. CSV quotes are not parsed; if the values contain a separator inside quotes, prepare the data first.
  • by length counts visible Unicode graphemes, so Cyrillic with diacritics and compound characters do not fall apart. Numeric mode accepts integers and decimal numbers with a period or comma; the rest of the lines come after the numbers.
  • Empty lines and lines consisting of spaces can be left in their original places, moved or deleted. Duplicates are removed based on case settings. The sorting is stable: equal keys preserve the original order.
  • The result can be edited, used for the next step, undone, copied or downloaded to TXT.

How to sort text and list of strings

Insert rows, select a sort mode and direction, then click Apply Sort. The source is saved separately, and the resulting list can be edited, reprocessed, or downloaded as UTF-8 TXT.

  • Alphabetical and natural sorting of Russian and English strings.
  • Sort by Column or Separated Field, Text Length, and Numeric Value.
  • Remove duplicates, shuffle, reverse order and manage empty lines.
