Extracting Columns from CSV, TSV, and Plain Text

The tool parses strings at specified delimiters and extracts only the required fields. It is suitable for CSV tables with quotes, TSV files, lists and text data with a custom delimiter. Column numbers can be specified individually or in ranges, for example 1, 3, 5-7.

  • Collect the result in separate columns, save the original rows, or output selected values in one list.
  • Customize row and column separators, handling of CSV quotes, empty cells, headers and captions.
  • Copy or download the result in TXT; edit it and see a summary of characters, words and lines.
  • Correct parsing of quotes, line breaks, Russian and English text.

For a normal task, just leave the comma delimiter, specify the numbers of the required columns and select the result format. Additional options can be opened in full mode.

How to extract columns

Insert a table or text, specify a column separator and column numbers. Numbering starts from 1; ranges are specified, for example, like this: 1, 3, 5-7. An empty selection field means "all columns".

  • Result location: separate blocks by column, source rows, or single list of values.
  • Separators: Can specify characters directly or sequences \t, \n, \r\n, \s.
  • CSV-quotes: keep commas and infield transfers; a double quotation mark within a value is indicated by doubling.
  • Additional options: edge spaces, empty lines, headings, signatures and maintaining delimiters.
  • The result can be manually corrected, undo the last transformation, copied or downloaded as TXT.

The result summary shows characters, characters without spaces, words and strings.
