ON-PAGE SEO AUDIT
LOCAL HTML PAGE CHECKER
Review the HTML source of a page for key on-page SEO elements and technical omissions. Load a local HTML file or paste its source code.
The audit runs in your browser and does not fetch the page, linked stylesheets, scripts, or remote services. Length ranges are practical editorial hints, not Google ranking rules.

SEARCH SNIPPET GUIDANCE
Neither search engine publishes a universal character limit for title tags or meta descriptions. The character ranges below are drafting aids used by this checker, not ranking rules or a promise that the full text will appear in search.
Google: Google recommends a unique, descriptive, concise title. It may shorten the title link to fit the device or build it from other page signals.
Bing: Bing considers query relevance and may shorten or select a different title. Its current guidelines warn that missing, duplicate, or very short title tags can reduce reliability; they set no character count.
Drafting aid in this checker: 30–60 characters. This is not a fixed Google or Bing limit.
Google: Google may use a page-specific description for a snippet, but can instead select text from the page. Keep it accurate, unique, and concise; Google sets no fixed character cap.
Bing: Bing warns that missing, duplicate, or very short meta descriptions may reduce indexing reliability. It sets no character count; max-snippet controls the displayed snippet, not this tag length.
Drafting aid in this checker: 70–160 characters. Search snippets can still be rewritten or shortened.
Google: Google Search does not use the meta keywords tag. There is no character target to optimize for Google.
Bing: Bing has stated that the meta keywords tag does not provide a search-ranking boost. Research real queries and use relevant wording naturally in visible page content.
There is no recommended meta keywords length because the tag is not useful for search. A query list also has no universal size: group real queries by topic and intent, then map them to relevant pages.

Use the local HTML audit before publishing or when reviewing a saved page. It checks the source you provide; it does not crawl a website or replace Search Console, a live SERP review, or a full technical crawl.
