Each row shows a Mega Drive button first and its keyboard key second. The same physical key works with either keyboard layout. A connected gamepad is also supported.

On a touch screen, use the on-screen directional pad and action buttons inside the game window when the browser provides them.
04 / SAVE STATES

Game state — a separate file

Download a snapshot of the current game, then open it later with the same ROM. The state file is created on this device.

Start the game to enable save states.

A .segastate file includes the state data, the ROM fingerprint, and the emulator core. The game must be running with the same ROM to load it. In-game SRAM saves remain in this browser profile.

Local processing

ROMs and save states are handled by the browser on this device. The server provides the page and bundled emulator files; it does not receive your selected local ROM.

How to use the Mega Drive emulator

  1. Choose a built-in game or select a compatible ROM file from your device.
  2. Press “Start game”. Genesis Plus GX is bundled locally and selected automatically.
  3. Use WASD to move. Mega Drive button → key (US / Russian): A → comma / Б; B → period / Ю; C → slash / .; X → semicolon / Ж; Y → apostrophe / Э; Z → backslash. Start → Enter; Mode → Space.
  4. Use a connected gamepad or the on-screen controls on a touch device when your browser supports them.
  5. Download a .segastate snapshot to keep your current game state. Load it later with the same ROM.
  6. The game file stays in your browser. The page does not upload the ROM to the server.
