How to trim a recording?

Method of fragment selection

Envelope by default equals the full length of the downloaded MP3. Format: min:sec (for example, 03:42.18) or hours:min:sec.

Set chunk boundaries after file selection.

MP3 is not re-encoded: sound quality is preserved. Boundaries are rounded to the nearest MP3 frame; time depends on the frame rate of the original recording.

Possibilities of MP3 cropper

Select MP3, listen to the original recording and set the desired passage in two ways:

  • Quick trim: Specify the seconds to be removed from the beginning and end.
  • Exact range: Set start and end times in seconds, minutes, and seconds, or hours, minutes, and seconds.
  • Preview: check exactly the selected fragment before processing.
  • Saving quality: MP3 audio stream is copied without re-compression.
  • Local processing: file remains on the device and is not uploaded to the server.

Supports Russian and English file names. The finished fragment is saved as a separate MP3, the original recording is not modified.

How to cut a fragment MP3

  1. Select MP3 to 100 MB. After downloading to the browser, the player and recording duration will appear.
  2. In the exact range, the default start is 00:00, and the end is automatically filled with the full duration of the downloaded MP3. If necessary, change the end and set the beginning of the passage.
  3. Click “Listen to fragment” to check the selected boundaries. Then click "Trim MP3".
  4. When processing is finished, click “Download MP3”. The file will be saved by the browser to the device.

Simplified mode hides the exact range entry and leaves the seconds removed from the beginning and end. Switching modes does not reload the page.

Processing runs in local FFmpeg WebAssembly. Audio data is not sent to the server; cut points are rounded to the MP3 frame.
