API ACCESS CHECK
AI API key checker
Check keys for 23 AI services, from OpenAI, Gemini, and Claude to Deepgram, Novita, Voyage, and Cloudflare. No model-generation requests are made.
Each key is checked with a separate, short request to a read-only endpoint, such as a model catalog or key metadata. No text is generated and no model response tokens are used.
Important: with server-side checking, each key is sent over HTTPS to ExtraTools and then to the selected provider. The site does not write keys to its database, files, or application logs; the browser clears the fields after results are returned.
Use this browser tool to complete the task described above.
Choose the available settings, then review the output before using it.
Check AI API key authentication against provider endpoints for OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, Claude, and more. Keys pass through ExtraTools over HTTPS and are not stored.

Check complete. Input fields are cleared and HTTP caching is disabled; ExtraTools did not save the keys.
What the API checker verifies
The tool calls a fixed HTTPS endpoint for the selected provider and classifies its response. Most use a model-list endpoint; OpenRouter returns key metadata, Hugging Face and ElevenLabs return account data, Deepgram returns a project list, Cartesia returns voices, Voyage returns a file list, Jina checks API authentication, and Cloudflare returns the account AI model catalog.
A green status means the endpoint accepted the key; it does not confirm account balance, access to every model, or absence of quotas. 401/403 responses, 429 limits, provider outages, and network errors are distinguished so a temporary failure is not mislabeled as an invalid key.
- Check up to 5 keys per provider.
- Requests run sequentially with a delay, progress feedback, and a stop control.
- No text is generated; each API call has a short timeout.
- Keys pass through the ExtraTools server to the providers, but the site does not write them to its database, files, or application logs.
Frequently asked questions
What does the API checker test?
It sends a short GET request to a fixed, read-only endpoint for the selected provider: usually a model catalog, and for some services key or account metadata. It does not generate a model response.
Is my key sent to the ExtraTools server?
Yes. In this server-side implementation, the key is sent over HTTPS to ExtraTools and then to the selected API provider. The site does not write keys to its database, files, or application logs.
Are entered keys stored?
No. Keys are used in memory for a single request and are not returned in the response. The fields are cleared after checking; do not submit a key if you do not trust this handling.
Does checking use tokens or cost money?
Model-list and metadata requests do not create a model response or use generation tokens. A provider may still count API calls toward request limits, and free-tier or billing rules can change.
What does the green square mean?
The provider returned a successful response from the selected endpoint. This confirms acceptance for that request only; it does not guarantee account credits, access to every model, or permission to generate.
Why might a valid key return an error?
The key may lack the required permission, the account may be restricted, or the provider may be experiencing an outage. A 429 indicates a request limit; a 403 can indicate permissions or access, not only a bad key.
Which providers are included?
The basic list includes OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, Kimi, Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, Cohere, OpenRouter, and Hugging Face. Thirteen more are available: Cerebras, Nebius Token Factory, DeepInfra, SiliconFlow, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Cartesia, Together AI, Novita, Jina, Voyage, Fireworks, and Cloudflare Workers AI. Voyage lists a free 200-million-token allowance for several models; Jina lets users create an API key for free. A free key does not mean free or unlimited usage: check your account’s current terms and limits.
What does a free API key include?
Creating an API key is often free, but that does not mean unlimited free API usage. A provider may offer free models, a daily quota, or starter credits; check the provider’s current quotas and billing terms before use.
Can I check multiple keys for one provider?
Yes. Select Add a key in that provider’s card. Up to five keys per provider are allowed, and requests run one at a time with a delay.
Why does Cloudflare require an Account ID?
The Workers AI catalog endpoint is scoped to an account. Enter its Account ID and a token permitted to read the AI model catalog; the Account ID itself is not an API key.
Why can a check take a while?
Providers are checked sequentially to reduce load and avoid rapid requests. There is a delay between checks, and network responses can take several seconds.
Can I stop a check?
Yes. Select Stop. The current network request is cancelled, completed results stay on the page, and all key fields are cleared.
Is free API access guaranteed?
No. Free tiers, trial credits, limits, and model availability depend on each provider and can change. A successful key check does not confirm a free quota.
